SJTU Science-Technology Park

In December 1999, the first State-level College Sci-Tech Park was officially approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education as a pilot project. It is composed of Huigu Sci-tech Park, Mingu Sci-tech Park, Zhangjiang Sci-tech Park and Xinhua Sci-tech Park, jointly established by Shanghai's four districts----Xuhui, Pudong, Minhang and Changning. At Present, the Huigu Park, which has preliminarily come into shape around SJTU's Xuhui Campus, mainly deals with electronic information industry (covering the fields of new material, biological technology, medical apparatus and instruments, the optical-mechanical-electrical integration, moulding and advanced manufacturing mechanics). They are all hi-tech intensive areas with many high-tech enterprises gathering around, The Huigu Park boasts 11 Sci-tech buildings mainly operated by SJTU, playing the multi-functions of scientific research, development, incubating and technology transfer, To data, more than 300 sci-tech enterprises have resided in these buildings, of which 60% are established by SJTU researchers and graduate students.
