School of Pharmaceutics
The School of Pharmaceutics, SJTU, the first of the
kind welcomed its first day on February 26. Zhang Wenzhou, vice president of State Drug
Administration (SDA), Zhang Shengkun, deputy director of the Standing Committee of
Shanghai People's Congress participated the opening. Aiming at the integration of
education, production and research, the School is the cooperation between SJTU and
Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry(SIPI). The seat for the dean is still empty,
waiting for the recruitment over the world through Internet. The enrollment of the
students will start at the next half of the year.
Initially, SJTU and SIPI has respectively invested 10 million and 8
million RMB yuan for the School, which is to devote to constructing high-level
pharmaceutical subjects, train well qualified professionals. It intends to invite teachers
and researchers from SJTU and SIPI, offer comprehensive programs from bachelor to post
doctorate. The routine operation of the School is to be managed by SJTU while it shares
the master and doctorate spots with Pharmaceutics of SIPI and Life Science, Biomedical
Engineering and other relevant subjects of SJTU.
