| The Department of
Engineering Mechanics |
Upon its establishment in 1992, it stresses not only on
fundamental education but also practical capability training. The students obtain Bachelor
of Engineering upon graduation and are prepared for varieties of job opportunities.
Postgraduate program comprises of 3 second-level disciplines: hydromechanics, solid
mechanics and general mechanics, which all confers master and Ph.D. degree. In addition,
Postdoctoral Mobile Station is granted to confer Ph.D. on first-level
disciplines of mechanics. The academic programs aim at high-speed hydrodynamics, flow
noise and control, computational fluid dynamics, fatigue damage & computational
mechanics, intellectual structure & compound material mechanics, multimer system
dynamics & control, spacecraft attitude dynamics, non-linear dynamics, theory and
application of vibration & vibration control, etc. Notably, there are renowned
professors such as academicians He Yousheng, Dong Shiling, professors and advisors for
Ph.D. Liu Yanzhu, Kuang Zhenbang, Liu Zhengxing, Hong Jiazhen, and Lu Chuanjin.
| The Department of Civil
Engineering & Architecture |
The department was recovered in 1985. At present it
offers 2 specialties: Architecture and Architectural Engineering. Its goal is to foster
export-oriented students with solid foundation and wide range of knowledge.
Therefore the students are particularly intensified on the capabilities of foreign
languages, computer applications and management. The students are conferred the Bachelor
of Engineering upon graduation. The schooling of Architecture lasts 5 years. One third of
the first fall due of 1998 were admitted to postgraduate program. Besides, Two
second-level disciplines are charted to grant master degree: Structural Engineering and
Rock and Soil Engineering.
Relevant researches focus on intellectual structure, steel structure,
security and endurance of structure, interaction of base and upside structure, rock and
soil engineering. Among the faculty members, academician Ge Xiurun, Professor Liu Xila,
Huang Jinzhi and Kou Xinjian are well known.
